During her time at Bayview Secondary School and later at York University, Trish actively participated in soccer and hockey. She pursued studies in kinesiology and biology. However, a faculty strike prompted her to change her career trajectory.

Trish’s journey took an unexpected turn when she became a receptionist at a local gym. There, she caught the attention of a MuscleMag publisher, who offered her a test shoot. Modeling Career

After being discovered, Stratus appeared on numerous magazine covers, including the May 1998 issue of “MusicleMag International.” She signed a two-year modeling contract and also began hosting “Live Audio Wrestling” on Toronto Sports Radio along with co-hosts Big Daddy Donnie and Jeff Marek.

By November of 1999, her fitness modeling work caught the attention of the World Wrestling Federation and they signed her to a multi-year contract. She was sent to train at Sully’s Gym with trainer and professional wrestler, Ron Hutchinson.

Career

She started as a manager of the tag team, Prince Albert and Test, as well as managing Val Venice.

Trish made her debut in 2000 under the ring name “Trish Stratus”. With her tag teams winning virtually every fight, she decided to compete in the WWF Women’s Championship but was unfortunately unsuccessful.

To get the ball rolling, Trish started a feud with Vince McMahon, the WWF Chairman. Vince’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon, who is a fellow wrestler, did not take a liking to this, which resulted in many months of feuding and controversy.
